Expressions of interest are being sought for this five-day intensive masterclass which will enable artists to experiment with projected imagery in the Cube at the Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima (MAP mima). The Cube is a 360-degree projection canvas powered by Resolume with eight fixed projectors and an additional projector that is currently mapped to the floor.

During the masterclass, artists will learn how to manipulate video through multiple programs (including After Effects and Resolume) and create works on the Cube’s 360-degree canvas.

Led by by Cindi Drennan and Craig Laurendet (Illuminart), Martina Mrongovius, PhD (Art Producer – Lake Arts Precinct) and Pippa Budge (MAP mima Curator), this funded masterclass will give artists the skills to develop an immersive artwork commission for MAP mima.

Applications are sought from artists with experience producing moving imagery and with digital image manipulation.  Each selected artist will receive a $500 stipend. For artists outside the Lake Macquarie area, accommodation can be provided at the Lake House or a local hotel, with travel expenses of up to $300 reimbursed.

The masterclass runs from 10am until 4pm for five days starting Monday 30 May and ending Friday 3 June 2022 at the Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima.

Expressions of interest close on April 27, 2022.
