Donations are now open for a crowdfunding campaign to support the release of a Weavers of The Bundjalung Nation publication. The book documents women’s weaving practices specific to the Bundjalung region and records stories of elders and weavers, researches historical and archival material and documents traditional plant species and harvesting techniques.

Arts Northern Rivers is working to continue this legacy by ensuring weaving practice and stories will be available for future generations. The crowdfunding campaign is calling for donations to fund the associated printing costs of the valuable publication, which when printed and sold, will secure profits to ensure ongoing weaving engagement and programs for Artists, Elders and future generations.

Written by acclaimed writer, producer and director Rhoda Roberts AO and edited by Grace Lucas-Pennington, the publication documents these stories with images by renowned photographer Kate Holmes, mentee photographer Kris Cook and features an introduction by Miles Franklin Award winner Melissa Lucashenko.
