Regional Arts NSW is looking for your support this AusArt Day. After helping regional artists and arts organisation for almost 80 years, we’re in the precarious position of seriously considering the future of our organisation.
Until a few years ago, we relied on the support of the NSW State Government to fund our core operations. Since this support was removed, we have been relying on the generosity of our supporters and our reserves to continue offering our services. We have survived until 2025 through very careful management of these funds, but our reserves won’t last forever.
To continue to offer the essential services that we provide to regional artists, we now need your support.
Why support us?
RANSW is the voice of regional artists and organisations. We work hard to ensure that they are heard and have the same access to opportunities as city-based creatives. Our work is based on three strategic pillars of operation:
ADVOCACY
We speak to politicians, funding bodies and policy makers on your behalf to make sure regional is considered in decision making around the arts.
Recently, advocacy work we did led to $7.4 million of funding being directed to regional organisations in Create NSW’s Arts & Cultural Fund 2-year round.
SUPPORT
We support regional arts through strategic programs, grant delivery and deliver professional development workshops.
Each year, we distribute more than $800K in funding through the Regional Arts Fund and Windmill Trust Scholarship.
We also deliver programs like RALLY: Rural Arts-Led Regeneration, where we are providing connection, professional development and bursaries directly to regional artists.
LEADERSHIP
We aim to provide an example of best practice for the industry, by managing our governance, partnerships, programs and communication well.
This ensures we have the strongest possible relationship with the NSW Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) we represent and work collaboratively to create a robust arts ecology across the state.
How to support us
This AusArt Day, we’re seeking to raise $10 000 to help us to continue providing services that make sure that regional artists in NSW are heard and have the same access to opportunities as city-based creatives.

We can provide advice and support to a regional artist or organisation applying for funding.

We can link an isolated artist to a state wide network of other creatives.

We can provide a skill development workshop for regional artists.
$500
We can give visibility to a regional artist by profiling them on our social media platforms and website.
$1000
We can ensure needs of regional artists are represented in government.
