Great Southern Nights is officially back for March and April 2022! With support from the NSW Government, the 2020 debut was hugely successful with big hopes for the 2022 comeback.

ARIA-award winning pop artist Amy Shark and Yolngu rapper Baker Boy along with Jessica Mauboy, Jimmy Barnes, Missy Higgins and Peking Duk have been announced as the initial artists to join the line-up for 2022.

The creation of jobs for artists, venues and crew both in Sydney and regional NSW and additional revenue will help boost NSW’s creative sector and highlight the rich music culture. Nathaniel Smith, member for Wollondilly, is excited for the opportunities the event will bring to his electorate.

“This is a great opportunity for Wollondilly Electorate’s live music venues to receive NSW Government support to host gigs next March and April as part of a statewide program,” Mr Smith said.

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said Great Southern Nights would be welcomed by industry and music lovers alike following another challenging year of COVID-19 restrictions.

“Last year more than 75,000 tickets were sold for 1100-plus gigs at over 300 venues, and we know the appetite is there to get out and enjoy live music in Sydney and regional NSW which, is why we must continue our vaccination efforts in coming weeks and months.”
