Arts OutWest is now on the search for its next Executive Director to lead the organisation as Dr Tracey Callinan moves on from the role to take over as CEO of Regional Arts NSW.

Dr Callinan has been Executive Director of Arts OutWest since 2009.

“Whilst the Board and staff of Arts OutWest are sad to see Tracey go we are equally excited for her to be taking on the leadership of the peak organisation,” said Arts OutWest Chair, Fran Charge.

“In that time Arts OutWest has delivered many projects, carving out a reputation in areas such as arts and health, Aboriginal arts development and cultural tourism while continuing to strengthen the work in supporting the sector, providing professional development, media reach and partnership development. Another significant achievement has been to instigate governance changes through establishing a skills-based board and an Advisory Council,” Mrs Charge said.

“We are looking for an energetic and innovative person to work with our communities and lead the organisation into its next phase of development,” Mrs Charge said.  “This position reports to a skills-based Board and manages a small team of talented and dedicated staff.”

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience working in communities with multiple stakeholders, be passionate about facilitating opportunities for local artists and have a clear understanding of the complexities of the regional arts sector, across various art forms.

Arts OutWest services communities across the local government areas of Bathurst Region, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Region, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin. The organisation has funding from local, state and federal governments for its core program and various projects.
