While the World Waits has launched online as new album featuring 15 original tracks by musicians from the NSW Central West. In the shadow of lockdowns and isolation, musicians have longed for an audience while music lovers have waited patiently for the chance to come together and experience spectacular music one again.
The compilation is a response to the impacts of Covid-19 on the local music industry and the continuous waiting game we have undergone. Commissioned by Arts OutWest, 15 songwriters from across 11 local government areas in the NSW Central West have each composed a song to reflect their experiences in the past year. While the World Waits is a professional produced, beautiful sound-capsule of this time in our lives.
Styles of the songs range from soulful pop, acoustic ballads, indie pop to rock. There’s even a taste of dreamy chill out music and accapella.
CD copies of the album can be purchased from the Arts OutWest website for $10 each. They will also be made available from visitor information centres and other retail outlets in the region.
