Come to Where I Am – Australia is a national playwriting initiative produced in partnership with the UK’s Paines Plough Theatre Company. Providing professional outcomes for eight artists from around Australia, the project strives to give voice to the artists experiences during this extraordinary time and audiences the opportunity to travel virtually through their stories.

The program was created in the likeness of Paines Plough’s Come to Where I’m From, which was an exceedingly successful project that has now engaged more than 170 playwrights since 2010. The program includes invitations to write and perform short plays about the artists home and places that shaped them.

Through an expression of interest, writers will be selected based on their submissions. The eight successful story pitches will receive a writer’s fee, dramaturgical support from Paines Plough, and technical and editing services from Critical Stages Touring.

Applications are open now and will close on midnight, Monday 13th September.
