The Sydney Review of Books and Cementa Inc are on the lookout for proposals from regional writers in NSW to develop essays for online publication on the SRB. These proposals would reflects the working lives of writer’s and artists with all commissions to be published as part of the SRB’s perennial Writer’s at Work series.

Editorial support from the SRB will be provided for writer’s to write a 2000 word essay which is to take the form of a memoir, interview, reportage or other narrative form. The SRB are open to other hybrid writing forms or visual/text essays and collaborative proposals.

A one page cover letter detailing your interest along with a writing sample should be sent to editor@sydneyreviewofbooks.com by Tuesday 13th July should you wish to apply.

Selected writers will meet with the SRB editor to discuss their pitches and a working timeframe for drafts, editorial meetings and publication. Essays will be published prior to Cementa Inc 2021, in October. Writers will be paid a $1000 stipend for their work.
