The NSW Government is supporting regional tourism via $30 million as part of the Regional Tourism Activation Fund. The Fund aims to boost regional tourism and improve the visitor experience for people with disability in regional NSW by making funding available for:
• The development of unique and high impact visitor experiences
• visitor accessibility and inclusion enhancements.

By dividing the funding into two streams, the NSW Government can address these two points. Stream one is aimed at unique and high impact visitor experiences, such as construction of a new cliff-top walk and viewing platform, development of a new and unique major event space or creating a mountain bike trail with international appeal.

The second stream is focussed on visitor accessibility and inclusion enhancements. Examples of projects eligible for funding in this area include installing a lift in a multi-level venue, construction to allow for clear access pathways from a public space into a venue or tourism business or provision of hearing loops and beacon wayfinding technology.

Applications for the Regional Tourism Activation Fund close at 12pm on August 11th 2021.
