This summer the Multi-Arts Pavilion mima (MAP mima) is seeking applications for immersive works that are playful, exciting and unexpected.

MAP mima wants to see how artists will uniquely engage with MAP mima’s 360° projection space to create something our audiences have never seen before. They are looking for creative proposals that push boundaries and play with technology to engage our visitors of all ages, who come from far and wide to enjoy MAP mima in Speers Point Park, beside the stunning Lake Macquarie foreshore, on Awabakal Country.

Artists can apply with exhibition-ready projects or proposals to develop work. They are interested in artists who wish to extend their practice by gaining skills with projection, light and sound installation.

Each year works are commissioned that speak to and explore MAP mima’s location, history, the lake, and the local community.

The total value of the commission is $10,000 and expressions of interest close on 31 July 2022.
