Submissions are invited from NSW artists aged 18-30 years, working in any visual art medium for Gosford Regional Gallery’s EMERGING 2023.
EMERGING 2023 is a biennial art prize which provides selected emerging artists the opportunity to develop and exhibit a series of works or installation at Gosford Regional Gallery, in support of emerging practices within the artist’s career.Each selected artist will receive an artist fee of $1,000 for the development of new work, with one selected artwork being awarded $5,000.
Key dates:
- Applications open: 1 September 2022
- Deadline for submissions: Tuesday 1 November 2022
- Announcement of accepted submissions: Thursday 10 November 2022
- Opening and announcement of prize winner Friday 3 February 2023
- Exhibition dates: 4 February 2023 – 26 March 2023
Eligibility
- You must be a resident of NSW
- You must be aged between 18 and 30 years
- You must be available to participate in the exhibition installation at Gosford Regional Gallery on at least one day during the period 20 January – 3 February 2023
(The competition is not open to employees of Central Coast Council)

- Concept (up to 500 words)
- Physical description including installation requirements and installation timeframe (up to 250 words)
- Supporting material: up to ten clearly labelled image or media files
- Curriculum vitae: including art education and exhibition history
