EOIs are now open for the second year of CASE Incubator!
Led by the Cad Factory, the CASE Incubator is a professional development, knowledge sharing and mentorship program which has been funded by the Create NSW Service Needs Strategic Fund. The program is aimed at artists with experience working within the broad context of socially engaged art practice. It is for artists who are seeking to develop their practice, engage with their peers, create networking opportunities with diverse partners, and contribute back to the sector.
The program is now in its second year. In year one we selected four artists with diverse artforms – Diane Busuttil, Harriet Body, Sarah Penicka-Smith and Sunita Bala – who undertook four residency periods and associated public program events in Sydney, Wagga Wagga, Goulburn and The Cad Factory site in Narrandera.
In the second year, CAD Factory is looking to engage and support another four artists to undertake a professional development program that examines and bolsters their own practice, while contributing to public programs and resources that will assist in the ethical development of socially engaged arts practice in NSW.
Each artist will receive a $4,000 stipend for participation in the program, plus accommodation and travel expenses to attend residencies as well as professional development training opportunities. They will contribute towards the creation and delivery of digital resources, major resource outcomes, and a seminar event in late 2023.
During four intensive residency periods over the next 12 months the artists will work with the Cad Factory mentors as well as invited project partners from a variety of sectors. These guest speakers will share their experiences to facilitate a broad and impactful process for us to consider the various ways in which we work.
