Keeping it Real conference

Hosted by Albury City Council, the Keeping it Real conference provides regional cultural workers and volunteers affordable access to current cultural practice, practical workshops and opportunity to engage, be inspired and be able to implement new practices in their own workplaces. Read more

Indent 2012 regional tour workshops

This August Indent is visiting regional venues across the state to deliver free music industry and event management workshops. The workshops give young people the skills to stage their own music events from start to finish and will be held in the towns that will host the Indent Tour later this year: Gosford, Coffs Harbour, Armidale, Iverell, Byron Bay and Kyogle. Sculpture in the Gaol

The annual sculpture competition Sculpture in the Gaol is on again this August in the grounds of Trial Bay Gaol, South West Rocks. Experience history, art and culture with a visit to the picturesque grounds. Read more

Arts OutWest’s new youth arts website

This August Arts OutWest launches their new youth arts focused website www.yaow.com.au The YAOW! Project (Young Arts OutWest) has been developed over the past 18 months as a platform to showcase arts and media work by young people in the Central West. Read more

Bundjalung Dreaming Digby Moran solo exhibition

This August, Ballina-born internationally lauded artist Digby Moran presents his solo exhibition at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery. A proud Bundjalung man, the exhibition is described by Lois Randall, creative industry consultant and former CEO of Arts Northern Rivers, as “a contemporary response to traditional Bundjalung culture” and “his most important works to date”. Murray Arts is hosting the Bright Sparks Symposium this August, a day of workshops, key note sessions, a panel discussion and personal business advice aimed at creatives interested in growing and improving their business. Read more

Arts Northern Rivers Funding Workshop

Arts Northern Rivers will run a series of one day workshops examining key strategies in writing successful grant applications, including a close up look at best practice examples: 24 July - Tweed Regional Gallery, Murwillumbah 25 July - Grafton Regional Gallery 26 July - Brunswick Heads Community Centre There will also be opportunity for attendees to book in for a one-on-one consultation after the workshop, for feedback on any grant applications in progess. Murray Arts will present Bright Sparks, a day for individuals looking to launch a business in the creative industries, on August 20. From graphic designers, to publishers, writers, photographers and film makers, participants should be willing to think about themselves as a business, and be open to ideas about how they might grow and change their businesses.
