Over a weekend in March 2024, three showcase-style comedy shows were held in various venues in Lithgow at the Lithgow Comedy Festival.
On the first night, the Lithgow Comedy Festival kicked off at the recently refurbished Union Theatre, with help from the Lithgow Council. The theatre was chock-a-block, with 90-95% of the downstairs seating filled with an eager crowd. Comedians were mixed in age, race and gender, including local indigenous performer, Bob Sutor.
At the Lithgow Workies Club, the largest venue in town, the show received a good response from the local audience, many remarking on the variety of performers on offer on the night. Using the ballroom of the most impressive private home in Lithgow, the last night at Wenvoe was completely sold out and featured an intermingling of seasoned named comics and local performers.
