Arts Northern Rivers | Art on Bundjalung Country (2017)

Increasingly, creativity is being seen as a major indicator in increasing people’s health and wellbeing. Art on Bundjalung Country was a major partnership between the Lismore Regional Gallery, Arts Northern Rivers, North Coast Primary Health Network, Bulgarr Ngaru Aboriginal Medical Corporation and University Centre for Rural Health to stimulate artistic practice for emerging Aboriginal artists to enhance their social, economic and health outcomes. Star Picket

Star Picket was a cross cultural collaboration involving 12 central west visual artists, curated by Indigenous and non-Indigenous art workers, leading to an exhibition at Orange Regional Art Gallery February-April, 2018. Read more

Murray Arts | Burraja Gallery

In partnership with Burraja Indigenous Cultural Centre, Murray Arts manages Burraja Gallery, an Aboriginal artists enterprise and shop for the sale of local Aboriginal artworks. Read more

The Northern Rivers is a region of villages, most with a hall that lay at their heart. Some sit proud on hills, some tilted with age but all are places of stories and keepers of secrets. Read more

Parkes Rotary Club Peace Precinct Commission

Location: Parkes, Central West (Arts OutWest) Contribution: $3,000 - Country Arts Support Program (CASP) In 2017 the Rotary Club of Parkes used CASP funding to build a peace precinct for Parkes, featuring artwork by local Indigenous artists Scott (Sauce) Towney and Scott Turnbull. Read more

Fun Theatre for the Very Young

Location: Bathurst, Central West (Arts OutWest) Contribution: $3,000 - Country Arts Support Program (CASP) A weekly 30-minute theatre show for 2-6 year olds in Bathurst was supported in 2017 by the Country Arts Support Program. Read more

Weddin Workshop Weekend

From 17 June – 18 June in Grenfell, workshops across a diverse range of mediums will be held to provide participants the opportunity to try new art forms. Read more

Microscopes in Mullumbimby

Location: Mullumbimby, Northern NSW (Arts Northern Rivers) Contribution: $5,000 - Country Arts Support Program (CASP) In October 2016, a successful CASP project saw young art-scientists participate in workshops by Scale Free Network Northern Rivers. Read more

Bundjalung and Kunwinjku Women’s Cultural Exchange

The Bungjalung and Kunwinjku Women's Cultural Exchange was a unique collaborative arts project between Wake Up Time Group, a Northern Rivers Bundjalung women’s textile-arts collective based in Casino, and a group of Kunwinjku women textile artists, from Injalak Arts, Oenpelli Northern Territory. The Echo in Our Walls

The Echo in Our Walls created a promenade theatre work generated from the relationship the rural NSW town of Hay has with its history. Read more

Pioneering Projections

Location: Griffith, Western Riverina (Western Riverina Arts) Contribution: $2,500 – Country Arts Support Program (CASP) In 2016, Pioneering Projections workshops brought the bright lights of an event like Vivid to the dark paddock of Griffith Pioneer Park Museum. Read more
