New RADO for Outback Arts

Rebel
Black has been appointed Regional Arts Development Officer (RADO) for the
Outback Arts Regional Arts Board, based in Coonamble.
She replaces former RADO, Rod Ainsworth, who resigned in May.
Rebel has extensive experience and connections with the region, having lived
in Lightning Ridge for the past 4 years and worked alongside local government
and many other local agencies and stakeholders.
Rebel's experience includes work as Editor of the Lightning Ridge newspaper,
Ridge News, assisting with the development of the Visitor Information Centres
in Lightning Ridge and Walgett, and most recently as the Project Coordinator for
the Lightning Ridge and Region Transcultural Community Council New Friends Volunteer
Visiting Project.
Through her own small project management and public relations business Rebsolution,
Rebel has done work for local government, small business and non government organisations
in areas such as local resource development, public and media relations, tourism
development and development and delivery of training programs. She and her partner,
Michael, recently Lightning Ridge's first fully outdoor dining venue, 'Dig In',
specialising in camp oven cooking and providing food and entertainment to locals
and tourists.
Rebel graduated from the Benevolent Society's New England, North West Rural
Communities Leadership Program and is also an accredited Workplace Trainer and
Assessor.
Rebel says, "I am really interested in community development and am
looking forward to getting to know the people of the communities within the Outback
Arts area and working with them to continue to develop arts and culture."

and I look forward to working with people to engage in arts and culture and develop
and share this valuable asset." says Rebel.
