Albury/Wodonga

$1,679 to Albury Central Inc .for Making Magic. Patrick McCullagh, magician, comedian & illusionist will conduct three after-school workshops for 20 upper primary children on the three days prior to the Applause Festival. These workshops will culminate in a group performance at the Festival on Saturday 16 October 2010.
- $1,740 to Albury Wodonga Artists Society for the 2010 Workshops and Exhibition Program. Three weekend workshops, open to both society members and the general community, culminating in an exhibition. Artists selected are Paul McDonald-Smith (oil), Malcolm Carver (watercolour) and Brett Bailey (acrylic).
- $1,620 to Creators Artspace for Generation Amalgamation. Six young and six aged-care residents will take part in a workshop with two local photographers and given digital cameras to take photos of their life on a particular day. An exhibition of the photos in storyboard format will conclude the project.
- $1,090 to Curlew Arts Council for the Building Bridges Concert to be held on 23 May 2010 celebrating local Indigenous heritage in the lead up to reconciliation week. Indigenous musician and story teller Kutcha Edwards and his band will perform.
- $1,500 to Deaf Access Victoria for Deaf Can Dance. Melbourne based dance troupe 'Deaf Can Dance' will provide hip hop dance workshops for deaf and hard of hearing students from Albury and surrounding areas. The workshop will take place in Albury in semester 2, 2010.
- $3,000 to Eastern Circuit 'C' Change Action Group for Eastern Circuit Community Arts Project. Eastern Circuit 'C' Change Action Group is made up of East Albury social housing tenants and this project involves local residents of all ages painting art work on fences which are now covered in graffiti. An arts facilitator will support participants in coming up with designs and producing the final work.
- $1,680 to Greater Hume Shire Council for the In The Bin Short Film Festival. 20 young people from the Greater Hume Shire will work with two short film experts over three days to develop and film their own short films. These films will be shown amongst national & international short films at the community festival.
- $3,000 to Greater Hume Shire Council for the Against the Grain Drama camp which will provide further educational drama experiences for rural & regional youth. The three day workshops will be held in the October 2010 school holidays at St Pauls College Walla Walla.
- $1,050 to Holbrook Public School P & C Association for the My School/Our Community Murals project. This project will provide an opportunity for the entire student body to work with a professional artist to create a series of murals expressing the identity of their school and community. The murals will be hung in the new school hall.
- $700 to Holbrook Public School P & C Association for the Paint with Pastels project. Up to 60 talented students will work with a professional artist to create an artwork in term 2 2010.
- $1,300 to the Rotary Club of Holbrook for the 40th Holbrook Art Show Workshops. To celebrate the 40th Holbrook Art Show, artist Vida Pearson will facilitate two full day workshops in linocut printing and watercolour painting, in association with the Art Show.

$1,534 to Ardlethan Cultural Development Centre for Creative Writing: Rural Stories. Creative writing workshop conducted by published author Margaret Innes, focussing on rural stories, to be held at the Mullins Centre, Ardlethan in late July 2010.
- $1,500 to Ariah Park Mary Gilmore Music Festival Committee for Mary Gilmore Art Show. Two artists will conduct visual art workshops for the general community as part of the Mary Gilmore Arts Show.
- $2,000 to Cootamundra Creative Arts and Cultural Centre for Experimental Sculpture Techniques for Youth. Sculpture workshops for secondary school aged children, conducted by Wendy Black.
- $2,000 to Harden-Murrumburrah Arts Council for Creative Art for Young People. Visual Arts teacher Pauline Jonach will present five weekend workshops across a variety of artforms.
- $2,000 to Murrumbidgee Magic & Wagga City Rugby Men's Choir for Voices Only. Vocal ensemble 'Suade' from Melbourne will travel to Wagga Wagga to conduct a vocal workshop.
- $2,000 to Spirit of the Land Lockhart Inc. for Paverpol Workshop. Two sculpture workshops for the general community - one prior to, and one during, the Spirit of the Land Festival.
- $1,200 to St Andrews Anglican Church Committee for Artist in Residence Up-2-Date Art Show. Catherine Stewart will be resident artist, holding workshops for school children and the general community in the lead up and weekend of the Up-2-Date art show in July 2010.
- $2,000 to Temora West P & C and Nazca Dreaming Society Inc. for Our World Through Children's Eyes. Nazca Dreaming Society will facilitate children’s cultural appreciation and environmental education through the medium of art. The project will take place at Temora West Public Primary School from April to December 2010.
- $2,500 to The Cad Factory for The Cad Factory Artist Residency, Community Consultation. Three-day consultation by six visiting artists with the local community in preparation for a new artist residency program taking place throughout the year.
- $2,000 to the Wagga Women's Health Centre for Women for Love and Justice. Choral workshops by Kavisha Mazzella for a newly formed women’s choir, culminating in their first performance.
- $1,500 to West Wyalong Regional Music Inc. for West Wyalong Winter String and Wind School. A three day school for local and regional musicians of all ages, to develop their musical skills on their chosen instrument and experience ensemble and orchestral playing. Tutors are from the Orange Conservatorium and the school will conclude with a concert.

$3,000 to Bourke Arts Council for Common Sense Cabaret. Three performing artists will conduct theatre, circus, physical theatre, comedy and music workshops with students and community members in Bourke.
- $1,500 to Bulldust to Bitumen Art Show Committee for Robyn Ross Workshop. Two day painting workshop held in Walgett at Walgett Sporting Club in preparation for the "Bulldust to Bitumen Art Show".
- $1,500 to Cobar Shire Council for Mastering Acrylic Painting, a four day still life and landscape painting workshop in Cobar with Pamela Griffith.
- $1,500 to Cobar Shire Council for African Drumming in Cobar. African drumming and dance workshop with high school students and a night performance by the professionals and the students at the Cobar cinema.
- $1,500 to Coonamble Arts Alive for The Journeying Self - writer's workshop. Tutor Beth Yahp will run a two day writing workshop exploring the journey of self, travel and identity.
- $2,100 to Coonamble Garden Club for Creating Garden Sculptures. Paverpol Workshop with Marion Murry in September 2010.
- $1,530 to Hot Flats Community Choir for Children's Community Choir Workshops. Establishment of childen’s community choir in Warren through ten weekly workshops with Katie Sinclair, culminating in a concert in December.
- $1,500 to Lightning Ridge Arts & Craft Council Inc. for Plein Air Impressionism Painting in Oils & Sculpture Workshops for Seniors. Two day workshop with artist Brett Mon Garling focusing on Plein Air techniques, and three days of clay sculpting workshops.
- $1,500 to Walgett Shire Council for Drumming Africa. Drummer Kai Sech from Sengal will conduct three youth workshops, one community workshop and two public performances in October 2010.
- $1,500 to Yawarra Meamei Women's Group for Quilting Project Work. Tutor Donna Macdonald will run workshops in patchwork, quilting a ‘Tree of Life’.

$2,000 to Bellingen Writers Festival for Words for the Future. An interactive website will be built and youth aged 15-19 invited to electronically submit short pieces on the broad topic ‘Words for the Future’. The strongest artists/writers will be selected to take part in a workshop focusing on realising their concept.
- $1,720 to Birpai Local Aboriginal Lands Council for Aboriginal Art Project. Aboriginal high school students will be engaged in Aboriginal art workshops for a period of 8 weeks, leading up to NAIDOC Week 2010. The outcome of the workshops include the design and painting a mural of traditional Birpai Totems at the entry of the school auditorium.
- $3,000 to CHATS Productions Inc for Trojan Women. CHATS Productions’ reworking of Euripides - The Trojan Women features innovative production values, including modern dress and set, pop songs, dramatic use of circus skills and will be held at the Jetty Theatre, July 21 - Aug 1 2010. Open workshops will develop circus skills.
- $750 to Great Lakes Arts Society Inc for Watercolour Workshop. A water colour workshop conducted by artist Julie Goldspink for approximately 15 members of the Art Society. The workshop will run for two days, 10th and 11th July.
- $2,000 to Guubuny Aboriginal Community Resource Cente for Gumbaynggirr Dreaming Dancers. Sharing of Gumbaynggirr Elders' stories with Aboriginal teenagers from the Bellingen region, working with Aunty Shaa Smith and Ashley Walker to tell the stories through dance and song. The dance group will have weekly practice sessions and will perform at regional, conferences and community events.
- $1,500 to Macleay Valley Arts Council for Rivertown. Rivertown is a contemporary musical comedy that reflects and celebrates the parochialism of a small town. It involves a small cast of local musicians and actors and will be performed in five different country halls.
- $2,500 to Macleay Valley Workplace Learning Centre for Culture Environment Collaboration. The students of the Macleay Vocational College, the Dunghutti Indigenous community and the DNAAG are working together to produce a collaborative cultural experience involving public art, Indigenous games and the voice of Indigenous musical instruments.
- $1,500 to Old Bar Chamber of Commerce for Our Beach Town, Our Culture, Our Heritage. Artist Cate McGowan and a local Aboriginal artist will draw and paint beach scenes, flora and fauna, history and aboriginal images on the walls of Old Bar facilities located at the entrance of the Old Bar Beach next to the Surf Club.
- $3,000 to the Wingham Akoostik Festival for Igniting Artistic Expression. Workshops in musical instrument experimentation for primary school age children, exploring singing ability with Tracey Campbell for youth/adults (beginners) and developing song writing ability with Bronnie Ware for advanced musicians.

$2,250 to Cessnock Regional Art Gallery Inc for Our Place: a journey through the Hunter Valley. Exhibition by five Hunter artists at the Cessnock Regional Art Gallery, with workshops in various art forms taking place in the gallery and local schools.
- $2,950 to Karuah Working Together Inc. for Art on the Wire II. In October 2010, Karuah Working together Inc. will recreate their historic "Art on the Wire" event of 2007. For one month an artist in residence will lead local artists in producing outdoor paintings for display on a specially constructed wire fence.
- $1,500 to SeaSide Singers Inc. for Choral Workshop. Weekend choral workshop at Nelson Bay in March 2011, to build on the success of a self-funded workshop being held in 2010. The workshop will bring professional artists to train the choir and other interested community members in choral techniques.
- $3,000 to Shoalhaven Folk Club Inc for Mal Webb and Totally Gourdgeous at Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival 2010. Renowned Australian folk group, Totally Gourdgeous, led by Mal Webb, will perform at this small regional folk festival in Kangaroo Valley. The group will not only perform but also be involved in community workshops and Mal Webb will also perform solo.

$2,215 to The Natty Knitters of Griffith for The Knitted Garden. The group will knit/crochet a life-sized garden for display at the Griffith Regional Gallery during ‘Flower Power"’in October 2010 as part of the Open Gardens & Orange Sculptures Festival.

$3,000 to Nowra Town Band Inc. for Legends of the Nowra Town Band. David Williamson, Marti O'Connor and Ross Longfield will make an oral history documentary film with the Nowra Town Band as its subject.

$2,000 to Byron Shire Council for Bamboo Craft. an eight week program for young people at risk learning screen printing skills, bamboo screen construction and opportunities to create a small enterprise accessing web based markets.
- $1,500 to Casino Beef Week Promotions Committee Inc for Casino on Parade. Two free drumming workshops with Paul Barrett, director of The Samba Blisstas, culminating in participants drumming in street parade and free public performance at Casino Beef Week.
- $2,000 to Clarence Valley Council for Dance Lab. A series of six free Hip-Hop dance skills workshops with a public performance for primary aged school children.
- $1,500 to Grafton Artsfest Inc. for Big Band Workshop. A Big Band workshop directed by four tutors over three days to be held at the Clarence Valley Conservatorium.
- $1,500 to Lower Clarence Magpie Rugby League Club for United Nations World Day of Indigenous People - Let's Celebrate, a two day event celebrating Indigenous Peoples through cultural and sporting activities.
- $1,800 to Ocean Shores Public School P & C Committee for Ocean Shores Community Art Workshop Series, a series of nine free art and music workshops facilitated by local artists to coincide with the Ocean Shores Art Expo Event.
- $2,000 to On Track Community Program Inc. (Lismore / Richmond Region) for Stepping Up and Moving Forward, a program for young people ( 6-18yrs) whose parents have a mental illness, developing art to enhance emotional resilience and positive self expression.
- $2,425 to Serpentine Community Gallery Inc. for A Paper Trail, a week of art workshops and skill sharing by professional artists, open to the general public and artists culminating in a two week curated exhibition at Serpentine Gallery.
- $1,000 to The Unity Festival for The Unity Festival, a project engaging Aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islanders and culturally and linguistically diverse performers in a multicultural festival.
- $1,634 to Ukitopia Arts Collective for Story Telling Totem Poles. Five sections of the Uki community will construct ten storytelling pottery bead totem poles facilitated by Uki artist Marie France Boissonneault.
- $2,000 to Youth Connections North Coast Inc. for Rhythm of the Land - Arts Intensive and Performance, a school holiday arts program targeting Indigenous youth developing skills in dance, circus and costumes and culminating in a performance at Youth Week Crankfest Xtreme Festival.

$2,700 to Baradine Progress Association Inc. for The Magpie at the Oval Sculpture - a sporting symbol. Targeting community and youth, supported by local sports groups and schools, this project will create a magpie (sporting emblem for the community sports teams) from recycled metal through educational sculpture design and workshops. The project is facilitated by local sculptor David Sherlock.
- $3,000 to Coolah Youth and Community Centre for Lantern Lights. Facilitator Phillip Relf will conduct workshops with teachers and students at Coolah Central School as well as youth at Coolah Youth and Community Centre. A gala night showcase and lantern parade will follow.
- $1,911 to Coonabarabran High School P & C Association for Coonabarabran Aboriginal Garden Stage 2. Sculptor in Residence. Ken Hutchinson, a well known regional sculptor, will work with local young people and the wider community to create a sculpture reflecting the Gamilaroi heritage of the area. This will remain on permanent display in the Aboriginal garden of the Coonabarabran High School.
- $1,498 to Dubbo Artz Incorporated for Creative Writing Workshop – Intermediate. Val Clark will present weekly creative writing workshops for beginners and emerging writers at the Midnite Café Dubbo during August and September 2010.
- $3,000 to Dunedoo & District Development Group Inc for Dunedoo Railway History 1910-2010. Historian Roy Cameron (OAM) of Coolah will compile the railway history of Dunedoo over the last 100 years. This book will be launched at the Railway Centenary Celebration Dinner held on 2 October 2010.
- $3,000 to Gilgandra Shire Council for The War Within. This oral history project will consist of photographic images that document and present via exhibition the war stories of 20 women in the Gilgandra Shire. The theme ‘war’ may reflect their own war with the environment, community, military or home. The project will utilise skills of local artist Gail Naden and editor Kerry Ellen.
- $1,500 to Outback Writers' Centre Incorporated for Writing/Illustrating Children's Books. Author Paul Stafford and Illustrator Shane Summerton will present a workshop to the Outback Writers Centre demonstrating how to create children’s books. The program will cover ideas, brainstorming, shortcuts and pathways to publication in an intensive one-day session designed to maximize participant confidence and assist in vocational outcomes (successful publication).
- $1,000 to TNT Arts Council for Galapagos Duck. Performance from well known jazz ensemble Galapagos Duck at the Narromine Showground on 24 September 2010. The TNT Arts Council will invite the whole region young people of the Narromine local government area to attend free of charge and will canvas the whole region to attend.
- $500 to Wollemi Children's Creative Arts Committee for Holiday Art Workshops. The project will enable a variety of visual arts and crafts workshops to be held on 7th and 8th of July 2010 at the Rylstone Memorial Hall for children aged 7-17 years from the local and surrounding areas. The program will be presented by three visiting and eight local artists who will facilitate workshops in mixed media, sandstone sculpture, waste to art, textiles, painting, drawing, printing, cake decorating and Celtic Art.

$900 to Boorowa Book Club for Memories and Other Melting Moments. Five creative writing mornings from April to December, for anyone interested in writing poetry, prose or life stories. Facilitated by Lizz Murphy and targeting new/developing writers across the Boorowa shire, outcomes include re-establishing a self-sustaining writing group, re-connections with the region's writing network; a display of memories and other creative writings in frames and alternative books.
- $480 to Boorowa Council for Poetry: The Indelible Stencil - Performance and Forum. Poetry and Place is a program of poetry readings and forums associated with the public art project "Poetry: The Indelible Stencil.' One of a region-wide circuit of eight readings, it brings three published poets and their original poetry to the community, promoting the region's poets, promoting audience for contemporary poetry and engaging the community in the forthcoming public art project.
- $1,500 to Bowral and District Art Society Inc for Lithography Workshop. Tony Ameneiro will conduct a lithography workshop at the Bowral and District Art Society in May 2010.
- $1,380 to Disability Services Australia for DSA Impro@ The Festival of Ability. A group of DSA's Queanbeyan Day program participants will be tutored by Impro Theatre ACT over an eight week period then plan to present an improvised drama production at the Queanbeyan Festival of Ability in celebration of the International Day for People with a Disability on December 3 2010.
- $1,000 to Lieder Theatre Company for the Lieder Youth Theatre Workshop, whereby three professional tutors will be engaged to run skill development workshops with the Lieder youth during the October school holidays.
- $2,000 to Lieder Theatre Company for Aboriginal Actor – Cloudstreet, whereby professional indigenous actor Phillip Brown will perform in the Lieder Theatre Company’s production of the classic, 'Cloudstreet' adapted by Nick Enright. Rehearsal will commence 3rd July 2010 and the production will open in the Lieder Theatre on 18 August for a four week season.
- $480 to Palerang Council for Poetry: The Indelible Stencil - Performance & Forum. Poetry and Place is a program of poetry readings and forums associated with the public art project "Poetry: The Indelible Stencil.' One of a region-wide circuit of eight readings, it brings three published poets and their original poetry to the community, promoting the region's poets, promoting audience for contemporary poetry and engaging the community in the forthcoming public art project.
- $480 to the Queanbeyan City Library for Poetry: The Indelible Stencil - Performance and Forum. Poetry and Place is a program of poetry readings and forums associated with the public art project "Poetry: The Indelible Stencil.' One of a region-wide circuit of eight readings, it brings three published poets and their original poetry to the community, promoting the region's poets, promoting audience for contemporary poetry and engaging the community in the forthcoming public art project.

- $3,000 to The Artists Shed for My Place My Community. Margaret Hadfield and Dennis Mortimer will conduct up to ten visual arts workshops in the context of 'My Place My community' at primary schools within the Queanbeyan region, culminating with an exhibition at the Artists Shed, Queanbeyan. The workshops will be held in May with exhibition in July.
- $3,000 to The Oaks Historical Society Inc for With the Best of Intentions stories from Dr. Barnardo Home, Picton. An exhibition using digital and visual media will be developed through a series of workshops with ex residents of the Dr. Barnado Home in Picton and people from the local community who remember the 'Home Kids'. The exhibition will open in November 2010 at the Wollondilly Heritage Centre and will include a printed catalogue and objects sourced from the ex-child migrants and their families and the local community.

Researching and developing the Wombeyan International Photo festival (WIPF) to ensure a smooth transition that will grow the festival from an informal gathering to a highly professional and sustainable event. The project will occur between April and November 2010, with outcomes implemented in the summer of 2010/2011 with the 3rd festival.

$2,050 to CB Alexander Foundation - Tocal Homestead for School Holiday Program - Drama Workshops and Performances for Young People. Two day drama workshops for primary and high school students as part of the winter cultural heritage school holiday program, which will build on recent successes in staging innovative community theatre amongst the buildings of Tocal Homestead heritage site.
- $2,050 to Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council Inc (GACCI) for Garden Art Workshops. Three local artists will run three workshops using different mediums. All will feature artworks for the garden and be targeted at gardeners and indigenous youth.
- $1,500 to Murrurundi Arts Council for David Taylor Watercolour Workshop. David Taylor an internationally acclaimed watercolourist who has exhibited and conducted workshops nationally and internationally for more than 25 years will conduct a watercolour workshop including studio and plein air painting in and around Murrurundi.
- $3,000 to Sandy Hollow Public School P & C Association for NIDA Children’s Workshop. NIDA workshops in introductory acting and improvisation at Sandy Hollow for children aged 5 -12. There will two workshops and a public performance.
- $949 to Scone Arts and Crafts Inc. for 'A Road to Improvement', a series of two day workshops to be held at the Scone Arts and Crafts Centre, utilising the skills of well known artists in the mediums of pastel, oils and watercolour. These workshops will culminate in an exhibition of students’ 'work.
- $3,000 to Singleton Public Library for Youth Writes! Two programs of creative writing workshops will be developed with a professional facilitator; one for youth, one for children. Each program will consist of six sessions and held at the Singleton Public Library over the Spring/Summer months of 2010. The project will support the establishment of a Young People's Writing Group in the area.
- $2,560 to Singleton Writers Group for Write Edit Publish! Workshops for Writers. Two full-day workshops supporting active writers in the Singleton community will be hosted by the Singleton Writers Group, focusing on the topics of editing and publishing. The workshops will be held in September 2010 at the Singleton Public Library.
- $2,000 to The Gloucester Project Inc for Body meets Soul. Community members will participate in workshops run by Jean Spokes on how to create 3D garden art pieces that can be recreated in any home backyard, garden or rural setting. The work(s) will be practical and beautiful in keeping with the Tucker Garden Patch philosophy and goals of sustainability and preservation.
