Kempsey Shire Council | Gateway Sculptures Art Commission EOI

Kempsey Shire Council invites artists and art based collaborative teams to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the creation of two public sculptures to be installed in the roundabouts on the southern (Slim Dusty) and northern (Dunghutti) Pacific Highway interchanges. Read more

RAF Project | Wiradjuri Constellations at Cementa17

Big Skies Collaboration: Scott ‘Sauce’ Towney’s illustrated representations of Wiradjuri constellations will be exhibited at Cementa17 this week. In 2016 Cultural astronomer Trevor Leaman commissioned Wiradjuri artist Scott ‘Sauce’ Towney, from Peak Hill, to create a set of graphic representations of his people’s star constellations, as part of Trevor’s own Wiradjuri Cultural Astronomy Project. Cementa 17| An Interview with Artist Miriam Williamson

A once flourishing cement works town, Kandos (pop. 1,200) is located 3.5 hours from Sydney between the towns of Lithgow and Mudgee. The town owes its existence to the plentiful supplies of limestone and coal in the region, which supported the former cement plant up until its closure in 2012. Read more
