Newcastle to host arts conference

The Federal Government has injected $80,000 into a national arts conference to be held in Newcastle on March 12-14 2013. The Renew Australia conference will draw hundreds of people to the city to discuss the concept of transforming empty city buildings into creative spaces. Read more

Kalgoorlie unveiled for 2014 conference

Arts North West appoints Aboriginal Arts Officer

Access All Areas: A passport to partnerships for artists of all abilities

Supported by the NSW Government through Arts NSW and Ageing, Disability and Home Care, Regional Arts NSW is presenting a number of workshops across the state during November to assist arts organisations and disability services organisations to develop great arts projects for artists of all abilities. The Access All Areas: A passport to partnerships for artists of all abilities workshops will be facilitated by Anne Dunn, a highly experienced mediator, facilitator and organisational developer in the corporate, government and community sectors. Reform of the Australia Council begins

Federal Arts Minister Simon Crean has announced the Australia Council for the Arts will have increased responsibility for a broader range of arts funding programs in the first steps of reforming the Council. Speaking at the Australian Performing Arts Centres Association Conference, Mr Crean said that Playing Australia, Visions of Australia, Festivals Australia, the Contemporary Music Touring Program, Contemporary Touring Initiative and the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy will transfer to the Australia Council from the Office for the Arts. Tilligerry Festival - Arts Craft & Quilting Show Prize

The Tilligerry Lions Club and Tilligerry Arts Group have met again to hold the annual Tilligerry Arts, Craft & Quilting Show in the auditorium of the Lemon Tree Passage Bowling Club between 15 – 18 November 2012. Port Stephens Examiner Literature Award 2012

The Port Stephens Examiner Literature Award 2012 is calling for entries to this year’s competition with a total of $1200 of prize money to be won. Entries are to be short stories up to 2000 words on any subject.
