New York Publishing Delegation Program 2018
North America is the largest rights market in the world for Australian publishers and rights sellers, with New York at the heart of its publishing industry. It is also the hub for one of the world’s largest communities of literary agents and scouts.
Expressions of Interest are now open for participants in an Australian literature delegation to travel to New York from 4-8 June 2018.
The delegation will undertake a five day program of industry meetings, market briefings and networking opportunities. The program will provide Australian rights sellers, literary agents and publishers with the opportunity to gain experience in the North American market, extend their networks and pitch titles to North American editors.
Successful participants may wish to travel earlier in order to attend the New York Rights Fair which takes place from 30 May – 1 June. More information can be found at www.newyorkrightsfair.com.
The Australia Council’s International Development Consultant, North America, and Arts Practice Director, Literature, will work with each delegate to develop a tailored program of meetings.
The Australia Council will support six delegates with $2,000 towards the cost of a return flight from Australia to New York, and will arrange and pay for accommodation during the program.
Delegates will be responsible for covering the cost of meals and ground transport in New York, as well as visas and travel insurance. Any additional travel, accommodation, living away from home or other incidental costs are the responsibility of individual delegates. Cost of attendance at the New York Rights Fair will be the responsibility of the participants.
