Generator: Emerging Filmmakers Fund
Generator: Emerging Filmmakers Fund (GEFF) supports new and emerging filmmakers and screen practitioners in NSW by funding the production and post-production of short films.
In each round, projects receive grants of up to $30,000 for production and/or post-production of a short film. There is one round annually. This year we will provide funding for up to three projects.
Screen NSW has committed to supporting enhanced participation in the industry of people from under-represented groups including women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from CaLD backgrounds, people with a disability, LGBTQI people, people from western Sydney and people from regional NSW.
In 2016, applications to GEFF will require the inclusion of a female director. Priority will be given to teams including people from under-represented groups.
Mentors/Executive Producers are attached to the GEFF program. This year, Aquarius Films will act as the mentor and Executive Producer (EP) for all the GEFF shorts.
Aquarius Films is a Sydney-based production company focused on producing high quality feature films, television series and documentaries for the international market. The company is a creative partnership between award-winning filmmakers Angie Fielder, Polly Staniford and Cecilia Ritchie (Lion, The Nightingale and the Rose, Berlin Syndrome, Wish you Were Here).
Applications for the round of GEFF are now closed, information on the next round is expected to be announced in mid 2017.
