Arts About Town
As part of a new grant program, Maitland City Council is seeking artists interested in engaging with audiences at ground level and challenging the boundaries of their work by using local streets as their canvas.
The Arts About Town grant program invites artists to create temporary and semi-permanent works for public spaces, streets and laneways across the city identified as being in need of transforming and revitalising. We are looking for projects that engage audiences and create unique experiences that respond to the space they are in.’
The grant program will fund projects ranging between $500 and $10,000 and is open to both emerging and established artists.
Expressions of Interest open on Friday 23 June and applicants will have until close of business on Wednesday 26 July to submit their proposal.

The Arts About Town grant program is part of Council’s wider Creative Streets initiative, which aims to fund creative projects that bring vibrancy to the city and activate Maitland’s streetscape.
We encourage artists to discuss their ideas prior to submitting, RSVP to the workshop and direct any questions to Council’s Place Activation Officer (project manager) on (02) 4931 2858 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
