Community War Memorials Fund

NSW Government

The Community War Memorials Fund provides grants of up to $10,000 for the repair, protection and conservation of existing local war memorials. The program has a focus on preserving memorials with heritage significance using an appropriate conservation approach.
The NSW Government established the Community War Memorials Fund to help protect and conserve war memorials across NSW. Since the establishment of the program in 2008, grants have been provided for a wide range of projects including honour roll repair, war memorial cleaning and conservation work, aborist advice for war memorial trees, memorial conservation assessments, security measures for memorials, repairs to war memorial halls and improvements to the accessibility of memorials.

NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize

The NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize is an acquisitive art prize of $20,000, awarded for the best ‘plein air’ painting of NSW subject. The NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize is an annual event and is recognised by plein air artists throughout Australia. The Parliament of NSW encourages all artists to enter this landscape painting prize, with finalists and semi-finalists exhibited at the Parliament of NSW, Sydney in October 2018.

NSW Community Safety Fund

NSW Government

The NSW Government has established a $10 million Community Safety Fund to support local projects to improve community safety over the next four years.
The NSW Community Safety Fund 2017 will provide grants up to $250,000 to non-government or not-for-profit organisations, community groups, chambers of commerce and businesses for community safety initiatives with a crime prevention focus including those that:

  • address local crime hot spots
  • address anti-social behaviour in communities
  • promote safer and inclusive use of public space; and
  • promote collaborative approaches to community safety, crime reduction, prevention and detection initiatives.

Community Building Partnership

NSW Government

NSW incorporated, community based not-for-profit organisations and local councils are invited to apply for the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program, which can fund: construction of new capital works, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance to existing capital facilities, and the purchase of capital equipment.

Applicants should demonstrate how their project will benefit their local community through the building or improvement of facilities to deliver positive social, recreational or environmental outcomes.

Applications from local councils require a commitment of matching cash funding by the council.
