Create NSW

Artist Support Quick Response funding provides professional development opportunities for NSW-based professional artists and arts/cultural workers to support skills development, take up outstanding opportunities of significance for their practice and/or develop markets.

Funding for projects that are solely focused on the creation, development and presentation of work should be submitted to Arts and Cultural Projects or another appropriate Arts and Cultural Development Program category.

Timeframe

Applications are received throughout the year for activities occurring between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018. Please allow up to 4 weeks for your application to be assessed and processed.

Who can apply?

  • Individual artists, practitioners and arts/cultural workers
  • Partnerships and groups.

Please note: priority will be give to applicants who have not received Artist Support funding in the last 12 months.

Up to $5000.

Arts and Cultural Projects

Create NSW

Arts and Cultural Projects funding supports professional arts and cultural projects at any stage of the creative process.

Who can apply?

Funding range:

  • Up to $60,000 for projects delivered within 12 months OR
  • Up to $75,000 for projects delivered over more than 12 months.

Young Regional Artist Scholarship

Create NSW

The NSW Government is offering a total of 25 scholarships for young regional artists and cultural workers to undertake exciting and career-making professional development opportunities.

Scholarships are open to artists, performers and arts and cultural workers from all art forms, including dance, design, digital arts, history, Aboriginal arts, literature, music, theatre, screen, curatorial and the visual arts.

  • Individual artists and arts/cultural workers based in regional NSW.

Funding range 

Scholarships are valued at $10,000. Please do not request more or less than this amount in your application.

Annual Program Funding

Create NSW

An annual program consists of multiple arts and cultural activities delivered throughout the calendar year. Funding can contribute to any aspect of the program.

Who can apply?

Organisations with a minimum annual income of $50,000* that:

  • received 2017 Annual Program funding from Arts NSW (now Create NSW) OR
  • have a history of three Arts NSW grants in three of the last five years (at the time of application).

*Including Arts NSW funding.

Minimum: $10,000
Maximum: $150,000

Service Organisations Program

Create NSW

Service Organisations Program funding is available to organisations whose primary purpose is providing services to members of the arts and cultural sector in NSW.

Organisations predominantly delivering curated arts and cultural programs should apply through the Annual Program funding category.

Applications are open in 2017 for Service Organisations seeking annual funding. Information regarding Multiyear Program funding will be available later in 2017.

  • Organisations dedicated to providing expertise, key services and critical functions to members of the arts and cultural sector in NSW
  • Applicants must demonstrate a central need within, and support from, the NSW arts and cultural sector for the services being provided.

There are no minimum or maximum funding limits for this category, however, applicants should review the funding recipients list for an indication of the level of funding provided to successful applicants in previous rounds.

Artform Fellowships

The Arts and Cultural Development Program supports a range of Fellowships and Scholarships for emerging, mid-career and established artists and arts/cultural workers across a range of artforms and priority areas.

Applicants from all artforms, including dance, design, digital arts, history, Aboriginal arts and culture, literature, music, theatre, moving image, filmmaking (Priority fellowships), community arts, collections and cultural heritage, curatorial and the visual arts are invited to apply.

Regional Capital

Create NSW

Funds are available for the improvement of arts and cultural infrastructure and the purchase of equipment used for arts and cultural purposes.

Regional Partnerships

Create NSW

Regional Partnerships funding supports significant strategic and long-term partnerships in regional NSW that will stimulate strong and diverse regional arts and cultural activity, and leave a legacy.

This funding supports strategic partnerships across and beyond the arts and cultural sectors, including those with local government authorities or other public, private or community organisations.

Regional Cultural Fund

Create NSW

The Regional Cultural Fund has been established by the NSW Government to ensure regional NSW receives its fair share of arts and cultural infrastructure and the associated recreational and educational benefits.
 
The Fund will invest $100 million over four years to drive growth in arts, screen, cultural and heritage infrastructure for the social, cultural and economic benefit of communities in regional NSW. Up to $25 million available in the first round of funding.
 
Expressions of interest open: Monday 17 July 2017
Expressions of interest close: Midnight (AEST), Monday 4 September 2017

 
The Regional Cultural Fund will support investment in new and upgraded arts and cultural infrastructure, to support the provision of operational funding and to address the significant disparity in the quality and quantity of arts and cultural resources between regional and metropolitan areas.
 
There are four categories of funding:

  • Small scale regional cultural infrastructure (under $60,000)
  • Medium scale regional cultural infrastructure ($60,000 to $1 million)
  • Large scale regional cultural infrastructure (over $1 million)
  • Operational Grants.

Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund

The Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund (ARAF) supports arts projects that celebrate and promote Aboriginal cultural identities in regional NSW and, by doing so, make the rich and diverse Aboriginal cultures of regional NSW more visible and accessible.

  • The project must include Aboriginal practitioners/arts workers in key creative roles, and incorporate Aboriginal cultures as the focus of the project.

Funding range:

  • up to $5,000 for individual professional artists
  • up to $20,000 for organisations, partnerships and groups.
