Grants From Capital Woodland and Wetlands Trust

Wildlife and Botanical Artist In Residence

Capital Woodland and Wetlands Trust

Wildlife and Botanical Artists (WABA) and Capital Woodland and Wetlands Trust are collaborating on a national Artist-in-Residence Program at the Mulligans Flat and Jerrabomberra Wetlands Reserves during 2015.

This Residency will promote collaboration between artists and scientists, and support greater community understanding of endangered and threatened species programs within these two unique endangered Australian landscapes.

WABA will award two Australian artists with grants of up to $3,500 each to use for innovative artistic proposals at the Mulligans Flat and Jerrabomberra Wetlands Reserves. The artists will spend four to six weeks working with ecologists, scientists, community volunteers and other artists responding to these unique environmental settings through visual art mediums.

There are 2 residencies available for selection of a 2-dimensional artist and a 3-dimensional artist.

  • • Artist in Residence One: 21 April – 31 May, with final artwork due 26 July 2015.
  •  Artist in Residence Two: 1 June – 12 July, with final artwork due 4 Sept 2015.
