2013 Parliament Prize Visits Outback Arts

Karla Dickens’ January 26, Day of Mourning has been announced as the 2013 Parliament of New South Wales Aboriginal Art Prize winner. The work transforms an old Australian flag, which has been embroidered and embellished by the artist. Read more

Youth of Wagga Wagga | Ashmount Artspace

For the past 18 months dLux, a media arts organisation, has been working with the Wagga Wagga community through the dLab National Program. Funded by the Inspiring Australia Initiative, young people have been getting hands on with science, art and technology with dLux Facilitator Yenny Huber and showcasing their ideas in community events such as Science Week and the recent Fusion13 cultural festival, where student’s work was projected onto the Civic Centre. Stars of Tokyo | Cowra Regional Art Gallery

Natori Shunsen was the Annie Lebowitz of his time, which happened to be Japan in the 1930's. The artist, who was a painter and superb cartoonist, depicted Kabuki actors – the movie stars of their day – who were wildly popular with the Japanese public as much for their colourful personal lives as for the flamboyant portrayals of beloved characters.
