Broken Hill Heritage Festival

The Broken Hill Heritage Festival has been CANCELLED due to health concerns regarding COVID- 19

Broken Hill’s Heritage Festival is a showcase of Australia’s history through architecture, theatre, art, music, interactive tours and displays. The 2019 festival program focuses on mining and unions, including events for all groups, visitors and locals.

The Festival kicks off with Heritage Highlights, which will see the Trades Hall Façade into a massive canvas that will display images from Broken Hill’s Outback Archive, telling the story of the city’s mining and union history. It will be opened by Broken Hill Mayor, Darriea Turley.

Other highlights of the Festival include a cemetery tour, focusing on mining and union officials laid to rest in Broken HIll; Mine Tours; and displays of theatre and a march through the CBD, which will bring to life Broken Hill’s rich mining and union history.
