Join the conversation and celebrate the arts in regional NSW.
Artstate is a four-year project by Regional Arts NSW to shine a light on excellence in regional arts practice and to explore the exciting possibilities for arts and cultural development across the state. Over the period we will be partnering with our network of Regional Arts Development Organisations to bring a stimulating program of regional, national and international speakers to share their experiences and knowledge. A curated arts program will provide an unprecedented opportunity to see the best the regional NSW has to offer.
In 2017 we started off with Artstate Lismore in partnership with our colleagues at Arts Northern Rivers. In 2018, we move to the Central West, partnering with Arts Outwest in Bathurst. From 1-4 November 2018 there will be an exciting two-day program of speakers exploring the themes of A Sense of Place and Robust Regions. Accompanying the Speakers Program will be a diverse Arts Program featuring creatives from across the Central West of NSW.
Integral to Artstate is a strong focus on Aboriginal arts and arts leaders as well as the recognition of the contribution of local government to arts and cultural development in regional NSW.
Each year we will move to a different regional location, building on the discussions in anew landscape and uncovering the artistic secrets of each region.
Sign up to our e-newsletter and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as we release new details of the program. We look forward to welcoming you to Bathurst this year and hope you can spend some extra time exploring this beautiful region of NSW.
