Winter Arts Networking Nights

Powered by PechaKucha 20x20

Arts OutWest’s Winter Arts Networking Nights will be social events for the whole arts and creative community. A chance to meet, mingle, introduce yourself, make contacts and maybe even kick start future collaborations. That’s the informal part. They are also powered by PechaKucha 20×20, where at each night 5 creative people will make short sharp presentations about what they do, their ideas or their work.

An invitation to share your creative story in a fast, fun format

We’re looking for up to 40 people (or groups) to bravely step up and share their creative stories at one of the nights, using the powered by Pecha Kucka 20×20 format.

What is PechaKucha 20×20?

PechaKucha 20×20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images, projected onto a screen, advance automatically and you talk along to them. Each presentation is only six minutes and 40 seconds in total.

The PechaKucha 20×20 format was started in Japan in 2003, there are now PechaKucha nights in more than 700 locations around the world.

What do I talk about?

We’d love to hear from creative people from across all art forms, mediums and perspectives: design, art, music, theatre, technology, film, architecture, community projects, creative ideas, education – you name it. Maybe it’s the big story about what you do, or a detailed look at what you’re doing right now, a moment or project you are really proud of, or anything else about your creative perspective, influences, dreams and plans.
