West Darling Arts | Threads of Our Communities Launch
After the successful opening and award night in the South West Region, Threads of Our Communities continues its regional tour to promote the enormous talent of fibre artists within the West Darling region.
Threads of Our Communities celebrates fibre art inspired by the regions’ strong ties to the agricultural fibre production and the arts and crafts that emerged with the growth of these industries in these regions.
This innovative project is a collaboration with eight local councils numerous community groups and organisations including CWA groups, knitting quilting groups, and fibre artists. The project connects artists with businesses and provides a digital platform for promoting the regions on a national and international stage. Most importantly, Threads of Our Communities provides an opportunity for regional artists to participate in the International Annual Excellence in Fibres Exhibition.
