Traditional Weaving Workshop
The ancient art of weaving on the beautiful south coast.
As part of National Parks New South Wales’ NSW Discover Program, this is a rare opportunity to learn an ancient art. Join a senior Aborginal Discover Ranger for this exclusive traditional weaving workshop.
Deidre Martin is an Aboriginal woman and artist, who will be explaining the traditional custodian’s of the land’s relationship to native plants and animals, while showing the group how to apply traditional weaving techniques. The group will learn the ancient art of basket weaving, and have the opportunity to craft, under Deidre’s guidance, their own woven basket.
