Upper Hunter Theatre Forum
plus Stones in His Pockets
Run by Arts Upper Hunter, this forum is for actors, writers, directors, musicians, choreographers, theatre lovers, teachers – anyone interested in developing theatre in the Upper Hunter. Apart from the opportunity to share what you do with like-minded people from across the region there will be four guest speakers at this forum.
Jane Kreis, Director of the new NSW Theatre Network (and RANSW Research and Development); Chris Bendall, CEO of Critical Stages which tours independent Australian theatre; Amy Hardingham, Artistic Director, Tantrum Youth Arts, Newcastle, and Ken Longworth, long time theatre writer and critic for the Newcastle Herald.
In addition, following the forum, there will be a performance of Stones in His Pockets. (See dates for the regional tour below.)
Having played all over the world including a five year run in the West End, this is a new Australian production of the multi award winning comedy by Marie Jones, directed by Chris Bendall (The Magic Hour), and featuring Sean Hawkins (Sydney Theatre Award Winner), and Grant Cartwright (Green Room Award winner).
Attendance at the forum and play is $30. Attendance at the forum only is $20. Attendance at the play only is $20. A light lunch will be provided at the forum.
The forum is on Saturday 12 September from 11 am to 3.30 pm at Singleton Senior Citizens Centre. Stones in His Pockets starts at 4 pm at Singleton Youth Venue just around the corner from the Forum. The forum is funded through Arts NSW.
