The Makers - Artists from the Wentworth Shire

West Darling Arts

An exhibition of work by artists from the Wentworth Shire, ‘the makers’ opened on Friday night at the Old Town Hall Facade, Argent Street, Broken Hill.

The exhibition includes paintings, outstanding textile pieces, limestone sculptures, a massive charcoal drawing and a beaded mannequin torso by Bridgett Grant (pictured). The mannequin torso was two years in the making.

West Darling Arts Regional Arts Development Officer, Cherry Pratt, said the exhibition would not be out of place in Sydney.

The Town Hall Facade has quickly built a reputation as Broken Hill’s newest and a very exciting artspace.

The exhibition is open Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm until Friday 11 September.
