The Art of Branding the Arts | Murray Arts & SAMAG
In July, Murray Arts, in conjunction with Regional Arts Victoria and SAMAG (Sydney Arts Management Advisory Group) will present a seminar on branding for arts professionals. Brand means more than just a logo. This panel forum will feature speakers from the arts community and best practice branding experts in the field who will explore the importance of having a brand strategy in the arts and the role of digital and social media platforms.
Previously offered only in Sydney, The Art of Branding the Arts comes to the borderlands to help regional artists, small arts organisation workers and larger cultural institutions gain the ideas and skills to cultivate enduring brand presence.
CEO of Interbrand Australia, Damian Borchok, whose studio recently developed a new visual identity for Opera Australia. With a portfolio that includes the world’s biggest corporations, Interbrand has also made a significant contribution to the arts through their work with local arts companies of all sizes, including Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Griffin Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company and The New Theatre in Newtown.
Opera Australia’s Sales and Marketing Director, Georgia Rivers, will discuss OA’s recent journey to brand renewal as one of Australia’s largest cultural institutions, and her arts branding experiences in both Australia and the UK.
Rounding out the panel will be Andrea Nixon from Nixon Counsel. Andrea has over 16 years experience in the branding, design, and digital communication industries and has worked with Melbourne Festival, Penguin Books and Sydney Symphony and HotHouse Theatre.
