Spirit of the Land Festival Lockhart
The Spirit of the Land Festival Lockhart took shape in response to the worst drought in the Shire’s 110 year history and escalating concerns over rural suicide and economic hardship. It is unique amongst Australian Festivals as it hosts Australia’s only National Farm Art Sculpture Awards for sculpture created from recycled farm materials and natural elements of the land. This year’s program highlights also include fine art and Indigenous exhibitions plus food, wine and markets. Learn more about the festival here.
To celebrate the National Farm Art Sculpture award, Spirit of the Land Festival and CountryLink, have partnered to bring country to city with 2009 winner Rain Dragon by Andrew Whitehead and 2011 winner Horse Power by Stuart Taylor (right), on display at Central Station, Sydney from 12 – 29 September 2012.
