Smart Arts Workshop: I hate networking
I HATE NETWORKING is a surprisingly fun event designed to encourage creative people to get to know each other, while also acknowledging the horror that is networking, and sharing a few tips at the same time.
It combines the educational elements of learning how to network with an opportunity to practice the skills in a safe and friendly environment, all the while embracing the discomfort of the whole process and having a laugh.
Tips that will be shared include:
- Preparing in advance – get the basics right!
- Mastering the art of the introduction
- Overcoming shyness, awkwardness and the urge to run away
- Dealing with wankers and other difficult people
- Choosing the best networking events
- The all-important follow-up process!
Our creative industry specialist advisors will be on hand to help facilitate introductions and share their knowledge and experiences.
Come along if you’re a creative practitioner, in businesses of any size. You could be a freelancer, a soloist or from larger organisations looking to expand your networks. You should also attend if you hate networking, but you know it’s a skill you need to learn.
Catering: Light nibbles will be provided and drinks will be at bar prices.
