School Drama 2020 Workshop
Murray Arts, in partnership with Sydney Theatre Company and HotHouse Theatre will be hosting School Drama, a professional learning program that partners Primary School teachers with professional performing artists for 7 weeks across one term.
The aim of the workshop is to inspire a passion for reading, critical thinking, performance and oral literacy, with a primary focus on the individual teacher’s professional learning.
With this in mind, a Teaching Artist will model how to use process drama-based strategies with quality children’s literature to improve teaching and learning. The secondary focus is on improving student literacy and engagement.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: All teachers are invited to attend a professional development workshop with Director of Education, John Nicholas Saunders from Sydney Theatre Company, 4pm-7pm on Monday 16 March 2020 at The Studio, HotHouse Theatre. The workshop will include practical approaches to using drama to improve literacy in your classroom.
