Puppetry Masterclass

Join a great Masterclass in puppetry from the Sydney Puppet Theatre.

Funded through the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) the Neville Workshop is a master class in two days where each of the participants creates their own moving mouth puppet beginning a journey of discovery into the puppet’s personality.

The workshop is part of the three stage workshop process, Puppet Up, which has been designed to introduce children to puppetry, storytelling and performance followed by public performances across six communities.

The masterclass is being offered to increase and extend skills among community theatre practitioners offering skills development and social and cultural networking.

The first day of the masterclass will focus on creation of the puppetr, including techniques with papier machie and design. During the second day the puppets will be finished and ther will be instruction on manipulation and developing character. The manipulation includes practising basic mocing mouth techniques, eye contact and allowing the puppet to reveal its personality.
