Saltwater Freshwater Festival

This Australia Day, Taree will host the 4th Saltwater Freshwater Festival as a celebration of Indigenous identity and lifestyle. The inaugural 2010 Saltwater Freshwater Festival exceeded everyone's expectations when 12,000 people enjoyed a free day of Aboriginal music, workshops, food, markets, dance, art and children’s activities at the Coffs Harbour Botanical Gardens. Weaving Workshops at Albury Regional Art Gallery

Led by Aboriginal woman Sharon Edwards, participants will learn the ancient art of basket weaving and making of eel/fish traps. Sharon will use Puung'ort Grass to teach traditional blanket stitch weaving for baskets, eel traps and dilly bags. Read more
