Jack Charles V The Crown

A Life Lived In Full

Veteran actor, musician, Koori elder and activist, Uncle Jack Charles, is an Australian legend who has spent most of his 70 years battling addiction and as a regular guest of Her Majesty’s prisons.

Jack Charles V The Crown is a rollicking show that runs the gamut of a life lived to the full;  from the Stolen Generation to Koori theatre in the 1970s, to the underbelly world of the Victorian prison system. Charles’ unswerving optimism transforms this tale of addiction, crime and doing time into a kind of wise vagabond’s fable mapping of the traps of dispossession and imparting some of his hard-gained wisdom.

Accompanied by a three-piece band, this one man show is a theatrical delight and a celebration of one of the country’s near forgotten treasures. Hothouse Theatre presents Jack Charle V The Crown at The Butter Factory Theatre, Wodonga.
