Tweed Regional Gallery | Inaugural Community Picnic Celebrates Gallery Milestone

Image: Come and enjoy the magnificent view from the grounds of Tweed Regional Gallery, combined with art and music this Sunday.

Pack a blanket, a picnic basket and bring the whole family along for a special community gathering in the grounds of Tweed Regional Gallery to celebrate their 30 year anniversary.

Take in the stunning view that has inspired so many artists in the collection while you enjoy live music, free art activities for the kids, and observe artists at work outdoors. Watch as the sun sets from the best spot in Murwillumbah.

Gallery Director Susi Muddiman OAM said the Gallery is excited to share this milestone with the community.

“Our inaugural picnic event promises to be a wonderful way for our local community to spend a Sunday afternoon, taking in the stunning views of Wollumbin and Tweed Valley that we enjoy from the Gallery,” Ms Muddiman said.

“There will be artists drawing and painting views across the site – working en plein air – and this will be a real highlight for our picnickers who can then come into the Gallery to view our stunning new collection exhibition Three Decades: celebrating the Tweed Regional Gallery collection.”

The community will also enjoy local music acts Joshy Dredz, Budjerah Slabb and Mel Scarlett, who will be performing across the afternoon.

Artists interested in being part of the Paint Out with Guest Artist-Mentor Hobie Porter should contact the Gallery for more information about this opportunity.
