Handel's 'Messiah' Live Streamed and Performed in Auslan with Live Captioning

People with disability, and those living in regional and remote areas will be able to enjoy a performance of Handel’s Messiah by the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs on 6 December when it is streamed live with an audio description. The performance will also be signed
live in Auslan for the three performance season.

The live streaming coincides with the International Day of People with Disability 2015.

A copy of the Messiah text is also available for download prior to the live streaming by emailing accessibility@sydneyoperahouse.com

Also in a world first, and in partnership with Accessible Arts and Sydney Opera House, the performance on 6 December and two other performances on Thursday 3 and Saturday 5 December will be signed live by a choir of 12.

The live streaming will be audio described live for people who are blind or have low vision. Conductor, Brett Weymark and Signing Choir Director, Alex Jones talk about the world first performance.
