Join us to hear from guest artist, Aletheia Casey and her photographic practice and career, after growing up and studying in Wagga Wagga.
Aletheia Casey is a photographic artist based between London and Australia. Aletheia grew up in Wagga and gained her Bachelor of Arts from Charles Sturt University. She exhibits both nationally and internationally and publishes her work regularly with the Guardian and BBC Stories. Aletheia lectures in photography in London and The Netherlands, and is a founding member of Lumina Collective.
Aletheia Casey will discuss her photographic practise and work, including both her personal work, and her long term projects which focus on Australia’s hidden history, and the repercussions of our historical narrative. She will show images from her latest series “The Dark Forgetting” prior to it’s publication for the BBC, and also her personal work which centres on belonging and identity.
