Exhibition: Lucinda McDonald
Exhibition - Lucinda McDonald
A Southern Highlands based artist born and trained in the United Kingdom, Lucinda McDonald’s practice is informed by her skill in welding. Constructing sculptures from offcuts and discarded pieces of steel, McDonald reclaims and rejuvenates these seemingly unwanted materials, creating subconscious yet harmonious tension between movement and stasis, colour, line and weight. Expanding her process to include collage and painting, McDonald utilises a broad aesthetic approach to composition across disciplines and dimensions.
Exhibiting alongside Alex Seton, this is McDonald’s inaugural solo showing at the Gallery. She has was a finalist in the 2018 Goulburn Art Award and has shown her work across the region in a variety of interior and exterior spaces.
