Community Concert to Grow the Music

Grow the Music Concert

The Grow the Music project will culminate in a free community concert at Wallaga Lake Koori Village, Narooma on Friday 6 March at 6.30pm.

The concert will feature many of the young people from preschool kids to high school students, as well as parents and grandparents who have been inspired creatively during the four weeks of the program.  Performers include Shellie Morris, Black Elvis, Keene ‘Bundy’ Ballangarry, Warren Foster, Djaadjawan Dancers, Foster the Kid, Drumming Acrobatics, Short Films and much more!

With funding through the Arts NSW Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund, South East Arts has worked with Grow the Music to facilitate the contemporary music development and performance on Friday evening.

Grow the Music’s vision is a future where music and arts programs are widely used as an important and effective tool to support education, health and community development.

They strive to be a support system to emerging musicians to become leaders and mentors, in an effort to create pathways for young people to be supported in Music and Arts based education and training.

The goal in remote regions is to assist in the development of a enterprising and self-sustaining music and arts scene, that is run from within the community, by the community.
