Jugiong Writers' Festival

Former Australian Deputy Prime Minister and self-confessed train oficionado, the Hon Tim Fischer AC, will open Jugiong’s inaugural writers festival to run from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 March.

With support from funding from a Country Arts Support Project (CASP) grant the festival encourages writing, reading and learning about the art of writing, and features author talks, workshops and a ‘small schools’ program. Students from a number of small schools including Jugiong PS, Wee Jasper PS, Brungle PS, Bongongo PS and Gundagai South will have access to writers and illustrators who, if not for the festival program, they would have to travel to a larger centre to see.

Authors include best-selling author Rebecca James, crime novelist Sulari Gentill and Charles Bean biographer Peter Rees.  Writers also have the opportunity to have their manuscripts assessed by editor, Nicola O’Shea.

Further information is available on the festival site.
