27th Gulgong Folk Festival
For the 27th time since its inception, the Gulgong Folk Festival was on again over the holiday season. During the weekend of the 28th – 29th December 2013, 30 artists played at seven venues, showcasing local traditional folk and Australia’s best contemporary emerging roots artists.
Markets, workshops, jam sessions and performances entertained the audiences which travelled from across Australia to hear the likes of Daniel Champagne, Big Erle, Alan Caswell, Melanie Horsnell, Caitlin Harnett and Southerly Change.
Organiser Richard Lawson told the Mudgee Guardian that “the highlight of the event for him was the life in the street, where pedestrians were moving between the festival’s six venues while musicians performed at the intersection in the centre of Gulgong.”
