Arts North West appoints Aboriginal Arts Officer

Lorrayne Riggs has been appointed to the new position of Aboriginal Arts Officer at Arts North West. She will fill the much-needed role supporting the development and sustainability of Aboriginal arts and cultural practice in the New England North West region. Read more

Access All Areas: A passport to partnerships for artists of all abilities

Supported by the NSW Government through Arts NSW and Ageing, Disability and Home Care, Regional Arts NSW is presenting a number of workshops across the state during November to assist arts organisations and disability services organisations to develop great arts projects for artists of all abilities. The Access All Areas: A passport to partnerships for artists of all abilities workshops will be facilitated by Anne Dunn, a highly experienced mediator, facilitator and organisational developer in the corporate, government and community sectors. RANSW welcomes Anna Evans to Arts OutWest

Anna Evans has joined the team at Arts OutWest as Aboriginal Health Promotions Officer on the Spread the Word project. A Wiradjuri woman from Bathurst, Anna will work two days per week over the next nine months alongside arts workers and health staff. Spread the Word is a publicity campaign for prevention measures in chronic disease funded through the Department of Health and Ageing. The project will engage local Aboriginal people to generate work aimed at Aboriginal people. Activities will include graphic design, film-making and a continuation of the belly casting project. Many of the materials created will then become part of ongoing local health strategies. Find out more on the Arts OutWest website.
Spread the Word is a partnership between Arts OutWest, the Western NSW Local Health District (LHD) Aboriginal Health Management Team. Read more

RANSW welcomes new RADO to Murray Arts

Elise Armitage has joined the team at Murray Arts as the Regional Arts Development Officer in the Albury Wodonga region. Starting in early October, while Karen Gardner is on twelve month maternity leave, Elise is experienced in event management, directing festivals, community arts project funding and facilitation. 2013 Regional Arts Fund | Regional Arts NSW

Applications for the 2013 round of the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) are now open. The RAF supports arts and cultural activities in regional NSW that are sustainable, have long term cultural, economic and social benefits, develop partnerships and cultural networks and provide skills development opportunities. 2013 Country Arts Support Program Now Open

Applications for the 2013 round of Regional Arts NSW’s Country Arts Support Program (CASP) are now open. The CASP provides small grants to arts and community organisations and local arts councils in regional NSW for short term, locally initiated arts projects. Grants of up to $3,000 are available to groups and organisations based in regional NSW for projects occurring between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2013. The outcome of applications will be advised on 30 November 2012. The Country Arts Support Program is devolved to Regional Arts NSW by the NSW Government through Arts NSW. Quick Response Grants announcement for January - March 2012

Regional Arts NSW is pleased to announce seven new projects funded in the January to March 2012 quarter of the Quick Response grant program. The Quick Response Grants once again assisted regional artists and cultural workers to develop invaluable skills for their work in regional communities through engagement in various professional development opportunities. Artforms represented this quarter included dance, craft, music, performance and visual arts. Funds assisted artists across the state from Bega in the south to Byron Bay in the north. The Quick Response Grants program provides assistance for regional NSW artists, arts organisations and communities to take advantage of professional and project development opportunities that present themselves at short notice. The funds are provided through the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund which is administered by Regional Arts NSW in New South Wales. Read the full list of recipients here. Read more
