Today at the Australian Museum, Regional Arts NSW announced the program for Artstate Bathurst, a four-day event that will bring an expected 200 arts delegates to the city from 1st to 4th November 2018. Artstate is a four-year program presented by Regional Arts NSW which aims to shine a light on excellence in regional arts practice and to explore the exciting possibilities for arts and cultural development across the state. In its fourth outing, Bello Winter Music (12-15 July) was once again a sell-out success that saw thousands of patrons fill the halls, cafes, clubs and streets of the picturesque Mid North Coast town of Bellingen. Thirteen different venues within the town played host to a diverse line-up of more than 80 international, national and local musicians. Read more
Registrations are now open for the 10th Art of Good Health and Wellbeing Conference, presented by the Australian Centre for Arts and Health (ACAH), to be held from 12-15 November 2018 at the Sails Hotel, Port Macquarie. The Art Gallery of NSW continues its conference partnership with ACAH in 2018, with AGNSW artist educators presenting arts for health art-making workshops at the conference. Read more
Screenworks and Feros Care are searching for 10 people aged 75 or over to be featured in a series of short documentary films as part of a new innovative project called FEARLESS. Each of the selected seniors will have the chance to learn new skills and will receive a writer/director credit for a film. Read more
The revered Bundanon Trust Riversdale site, which served as inspiration for iconic Australian landscape painter Arthur Boyd, has received $8.5 million from the NSW Government’s new Regional Cultural Fund (RCF). The money will be used to build a new gallery and storage facility at the famous property, on the NSW South Coast. Read more
David Francis, Executive Director of Four Winds in Barragga Bay, today presented a cheque to Bega Valley Shire Council Mayor Kristy McBain for the Tathra Fire Fund. The Four Winds community attending the 2018 Four Winds Easter Festival responded to an appeal to donate funds to support those affected by the Tathra Fire, and the total raised is just over $73,000. In less than three months, on 22 September, South East NSW will host the newest Aboriginal festival in the nation – the inaugural Giiyong Festival, taking place at Jigamy, just north of Eden. Twofold Aboriginal Corporation, Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council and South East Arts are working together to present this one day multi-arts festival. Read more
