The Big Skies Collaboration | Skywriters Anthology 2019

The Big Skies Collaboration are now accepting submissions to the Skywriters Anthology, a royalty title in print and eBook formats (pdf, ePub and Kindle versions). It will be distributed under a global license held by the publisher, Interactive Publications Pty Ltd (IP). Creative writers and aspiring writers are invited to submit skystories about their own or other people’s (or other beings?) relationships with celestial phenomena, as experienced from within the fuzzy borders of the region defined as the 700 Kilometre Array (700KA) of inland New South Wales. Byron Bay International Film Festival | Byron Bay – a Meeting Place for Innovative New Realities

Most film-lovers would be familiar with Weta Workshop, New Zealand’s world-leading design and effects facility behind the ground-breaking other-world settings and characters in films including Avatar, King Kong and Lord of the Rings. Weta have also been deeply involved in developing content for the Magic Leap One, the upcoming Mixed Reality headset from one of the most well-funded start-ups in history, a technology that until now has been veiled in secrecy – and that most people know from the social media video of a whale breaching inside a basketball court. Inaugural Youth Arts Symposium Set to Shake Up Australian Arts

Arts Front Under 30 (AFU30), a new national symposium, is bringing young artists from across the nation together in Newcastle, from 26–28 September 2018. Following a hugely successful public callout for participants, AFU30 will assemble a hundred artists under the age of 30, representing a diverse range of voices and experiences from across Australia. Western Plains Cultural Centre | Submissions Now Open for HomeGround

Submissions are now being sought from artists wishing to take part in the HomeGround program (formerly Regional Art Space) at the Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC), Dubbo. This program provides emerging regional artists with the opportunity to exhibit in a high profile exhibition space, to work with a professional curator to extend their practice and to benefit from mentoring sessions on a range of possible areas. Second Opening for Artist Residency with Start VR

Start VR is about to press go on the second opportunity in their Australian VR Artist Residency Program. The Residency is supported by Screen Australia through their Enterprise Ideas program and launched earlier this year with the creator of Sci Fi hit Cleverman, Ryan Griffen joining the dynamic company for the first wave of the residencies. Four Winds Launches Inaugural Youth Music Festival

James Crabb, Four Winds Artistic Director, has this week officially launched the inaugural Four Winds Youth Music Festival which runs from Friday 16 November to Sunday 18 November 2018. This new annual festival is a celebration of young people’s music-making and a culmination of the energetic, inspirational and creative programs that Four Winds offers to young people in the region throughout the year. The Seed Fund Announces 2019 Workshop 'The Future Makers'

The Seed Fund's much anticipated workshop will be back in 2019 and the scope will now include artists who are managed as well as self managed artists and artist managers. Over 12 years The Seed Fund Management Workshop has become a cornerstone of the Australian music industry, working with over 250 managers and self managed artists, many of whom went on to become self sustained and continue to thrive in our industry.
